Queensland State Board Riding Championships
DATE: Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December 2009
VENUE: Sunshine Beach SLSC, Sunshine Coast, QLD
This is the first year that Surf Life Saving Queensland has conducted the State Board Riding Championships as a separate event.
The competition is open to surf lifesavers in the age categories from under-11 to Masters 40+.
Long and Short board divisions will be conducted over the two days allowing surf lifesavers to really show off their board riding and surfing skills.
The competition diversifies from the usual surf life saving style of competition which features Surf Boats, Surf Skis and Malibu paddle boards amongst other surf lifesaving competition disciplines.
The event is expected to attract current State, Australian and World Champions in their respective fields of discipline.
The event to watch will be the club teams event, where board riders will be competing to exhibit the strength of their clubs’ junior, senior and masters ranks at the reinvented Surf Board Riding contest.
